About Arcade Scripts

If you are a novice web developer you may not be familiar with Arcade Scripts or any other kind of script. No need to worry, we’ll get you caught up to speed.

A script is a set of files that you place on your web server or host computer. This script is usually tied to a database to store information such as user data, game data, etc. There are many scripts available on the internet. Web developers can use scripts to create a video, image, or even social networking websites; the script that we are going to use will allow us to create an arcade/gaming website.

There are a few free arcade scripts available on the internet. For this book we are going to use an Arcade Script that will cost $45. The reason we are going to use this script as opposed to the others is because the support is great, the arcade offers many great features, and the interface is easy to configure.
