News Posts

In the News Posts section we can edit our ‘Latest Arcade News’ or add a news post. There are two options once you click on the News Posts menu option. There is ‘manage news posts’ and ‘add new news posts’.

We are going to edit our current news post. Click on the News Posts menu option and then click on ‘manage news posts’ and you will see a screen similar to Figure 4-8.

Figure 4-8 displays all our current news posts. Right now we have one news post titled ‘Latest Arcade News’. To edit this news post we will click on the square block edit button to the right under the Action column. Click on the edit button and you will see the Edit Posts page display similar to Figure 4-9.

Inside the text where ‘Welcome to phpArcadeScript v4.0!…’ is displayed we will change this to our desired latest arcade news. You may want to enter something similar to ‘Welcome to Our Arcade, you can play tons of flash games for free. Continue checking back for new updates and the latest and greatest games!’. After you have entered your desired text make sure that the ‘News Post Status’ drop down has Active selected and click the ‘EDIT NEWS POST!’ button. You have now updated your latest arcade news. If you look back to Figure 3-19 (change) you will see the Latest Arcade News post near the top of the page. This is the text that we have just changed.

You can also add new news posts by clicking on the ‘News Posts’ menu option and then clicking on ‘add new news posts’. You will see the following screen in front of you, shown in Figure 4-9.

We are not going to be adding any new News posts; however, I felt it was important to show you that it is possible. You can now go back to your Arcade Dashboard or you can close your browser because we are done with our Arcade Control Panel for now.

Okay, we’ve arrived at the end of Hour 4. Congratulations you are already half way through your 8 hour day web arcade. It should be time for some lunch. So move on to the next section ‘Lunch Hour’ where we will be signing up for an account with a company called ‘MochiAds’ after we have signed up with this company we are going to finish our lunch as we play a few flash games. The flash games that we are going to play will be the flash arcade games that we will be adding to our arcade.
