Paid Advertising

There are many paid advertising companies available on the net today. In this section we are only going to discuss a few of them.

One advertising company is AdToll (http://www.AdToll.com/). At AdToll you can create a run-of-network ad campaign in a few easy steps. Create an image or flash banner and buy an Ad bundle through AdToll. They have many bundles such as $50, $100, etc… You can also specify which countries you would like to receive the clicks from. When you select to receive clicks from all countries your Ad Network will normally be cheaper and you can get clicks to your arcade for around 2 cents each. Using AdToll is actually fairly simple. I would recommend giving it a try, and if you like it you will most likely be visiting again for more advertising. I can almost guarantee you’ll use AdToll again.

Some of the other main paid advertising companies include Google and Yahoo. Google has a service called ‘Adwords’. To login to an Adword account you will need to visit http://adwords.google.com. You should see a page similar to Figure 8-5.

To login to an Adwords account you should be able to use the same information you used to login to your Adsense account. If you get familiar with the Adwords service, and many of the tips and tricks involved, you should have no problem getting a large amount of traffic your way.

Similarly, Yahoo has an advertising system available at http://advertising.yahoo.com/. You can find out more about advertising on Yahoo in their online documentation.

Using paid advertising is a good way to jump start your visitor traffic; in the future you may want to learn the best ways to make your website visitors, become re-visiting members.
